How does Instagram publishing work in Collavo?
Once an asset is APPROVED in review and the account is connected, publishing runs as a real API call against graph.instagram.com — not a simulation.
- Connect the Instagram Business/Creator profile to the collaboration via OAuth.
- Pick an approved Reel or Feed asset from review — only APPROVED versions are publishable.
- Set caption, publish time and platform in the plan (scheduled or now).
- Collavo creates the media container via the Graph API (CONTAINER_CREATING → CONTAINER_READY).
- media_publish triggers the live post; status becomes POSTED, otherwise FAILED with a reason.
- An atomic status claim prevents double-posting across poller, worker and manual publish-now.
What stays on the record?
- Which asset version was published, with its approval history.
- Scheduled vs. actual publish time and the publish status.
- Platform post reference for later insights pulls.
- Failure reason on FAILED so a retry is traceable.
What insights does Instagram return?
Collavo pulls performance metrics via the Graph API (e.g. reach, interactions) within Meta's metric windows and rules. Metrics the API doesn't return show as "—" instead of a fabricated 0.
Honest limits
Instagram Stories and link stickers are not publishable via the official API — Collavo handles them as a manual step with a reminder, not an automatic post. Insights follow Meta's metric windows; not every metric is available for every post type. A connected Instagram Business/Creator account is required.
