Briefing

By Collavo editorialUpdated: 2026-06-30

In short

A briefing is a brand's structured task description for a creator. It bundles goal, audience, message, format, platform, deadlines, do's & don'ts and mandatory items like disclosure. A good briefing makes the expectation unambiguous and is the basis for offer, contract and review.

What belongs in a briefing?

  • Goal of the collaboration (reach, sales, awareness)
  • Audience and tone
  • Platform and format (Reel, Story, Short, Feed)
  • Core message and hashtags/links
  • Deadlines and number of assets
  • Do's & don'ts, brand guidelines
  • Mandatory items: ad disclosure, usage rights

Example

A skincare brand briefs a 30-second Reel: audience 18–28, casual honest tone, product in the first third, discount code in the caption, disclosed as "advertising", delivery in 10 days, usage rights for 6 months of paid ads.

At Collavo

At Collavo every collaboration starts with the brief and runs on ONE record: brief → offer (with negotiation ledger) → sealed contract → production → review. No context is lost between expectation and delivery.
