Multi-Platform Publishing: Real Posting to IG, TikTok and YouTube

How approved content goes live – via real API posts, with honest limits and a manual mode for what platforms don't allow.

In short

Multi-platform publishing posts approved content via real API calls to Instagram, TikTok and YouTube – not a simulator. What platforms don't allow via API, such as Instagram Stories and link stickers, runs through HANDOFF mode: the creator posts manually at the scheduled time.

How does multi-platform publishing work?

Once an asset version is approved, it can be scheduled or published directly. Collavo calls the platforms' official APIs and actually posts – explicitly not a simulator or preview. For Instagram it runs the real container-and-publish flow against the Graph API; TikTok and YouTube post live too.

What can't be published automatically?

Honesty beats a marketing promise here: not everything a platform offers can be posted via API. Instagram Stories and link stickers, for instance, can't be published through the official API. Anyone promising that is selling a feature that technically doesn't exist. Collavo names the limit openly and solves it with a manual mode rather than hiding it.

Honest platform limit

Instagram Stories and link stickers cannot be published via API. These formats deliberately run through the manual HANDOFF mode.

What is HANDOFF mode?

For anything the API can't do, there's HANDOFF: the post is prepared and scheduled in the case, and at the scheduled time the creator gets the task to post manually now. The case stays fully traceable even when the last step is by hand. In status it shows as a dedicated state (AWAITING_CREATOR) until the post is actually live.

How is double-posting prevented?

Several paths can trigger the same post – a scheduler, a background worker and a manual "publish now". So a post never appears twice, Collavo secures publishing with an atomic status claim: only a single process may move a post from QUEUED to PUBLISHING; competing attempts detect this and back off. Double-posting is ruled out.

What does Collavo check before posting?

  • Is the asset version approved (APPROVED) and locked?
  • Is the rights status fine (the rights gate applies to structured rights)?
  • Is a time scheduled or should it publish immediately?
  • Does the format require a manual HANDOFF instead of an API post?

Frequently asked

Does Collavo really post itself or just preview?
Really: it calls the official Instagram, TikTok and YouTube APIs and actually publishes. It's not a simulator.
Why can't Collavo auto-post an Instagram Story?
Instagram Stories and link stickers aren't publishable via the official API. Those formats run through the manual HANDOFF mode.
